Professional Team loses CEVO COD4 Season 5 Round 1 to Area 51 Gaming

The community is buzzing the news tonight, so many upsets happened in the first round of CEVO S5 Professional. Pure dropped to Just 4 Fame and 51 dominated vVv. Carnal was also able to knock off rS with an impressive 13-4 victory.

Unfortunately, exciting news didn't grace Radium's Professional tonight as the team loses the first match of CEVO Season 5. The match was hard fought with a lot of back and forth action between the two teams. This was a great match tonight and unfortunately Radium was unable to capture the win tonight. Area 51 was able to make some good adjustments later in the match at A which resulted in the winning of some crucial rounds to take the final score 13-11 over Radium.

The team begins preparing for Backlot tomorrow and looks to bounce back in Round 2.

Amateur Team wins CEVO COD4 Season 5 Round 1 over No Aim Gaming

The Amateur team wins the first match of CEVO Season 5 competitive play. CEVO offers some of the premier competition in the community and the team has been looking forward to playing this season.

Match Summary
Radium started out on defense after losing the knife round due to a 2v1 situation where the team allstar who goes by a different name everyday blocks BigEasy which resulted in his horrific death. Radium's roster was fielded by BigEasy, Sammeh, Chub, Marian, and MFX. After preparing throughout the week we felt good about our chances against No Aim Gaming. On defense we had Marian and MFX running the B side defensive front with Sammeh and BigEasy handling our A bombsite coverage, rounding out the roster was Chub handling middle defensive duties.

This was the second match with the roster together in a live competition match so we're still trying to get our chemistry down together, however regardless of the positioning problems and little other things to work on we ended with a 7-5 lead going into halftime.

Switching to the harder side for the 2nd half Radium felt good about their chances to secure the win, after some pretty solid play by No Aim Gaming the team started getting a bit jittery, No Aim was able to grab 6 rounds to take the lead 11-10 over Radium the final 3 rounds ending in Radium's favor to tie the match 12-12 and send it to overtime.

Radium was hungry to start off the official season with a win and did just that by making a few small necessary adjustments, very nice play by Chub and Marian helped the team to victory.

Post Match Wrap

How did Radium prepare for the match?
We tried a mixture of different strategies throughout the week against various teams. Ultimately we decided on to combine the best aspects of each of those strats that we felt worked for our team and the skill set we have to work with.

What did you learn from the match?
We need to work on movement and positioning, we failed to capitalize on some 2v1 situations that could have allowed us to secure a more solid win.

What did you do well?
Calls were very good and at the right times, especially from our team scope Marian. The chatter was kept to a minimum which allowed us to focus on what areas to concentrate on attention on.

What surprised you most about the opposing team?
Their ability to capitalize on our miscues. Due to this they were able to secure 5 rounds in the first half on the harder side.

What did you do differently in overtime to secure the win?
We secured B alley with some impeccable play by Marian, this allowed the rest of the team to focus on the other zones and provide good support and cover for each other. We wanted the win and we fought together to secure it.

CEVO Season 5 - Preseason Matches

Radium is fielding two teams this season for CEVO with an Amateur squad and a Professional squad. The professional team is lead by team captain Popeye and consists of the roster Radium fielded for the March Madness Tournament recently held by CEVO. Our teams have been anxious to start the new seasons and are looking forward to competing in both CEVO Season 5 and CyberGamer's first season in U.S. competitive play.

Amateur Team
Radium's Amateur team wins the first preseason match of CEVO Season 5 against Vo|tage. The Vo|tage team consisted of 50Cent, Mnsis, FREYYYY, Knox<3, and Paragon. After some early smack talking by Vo|tage during some public server play earlier in the day our team was ready to let out some aggression.

Due to a last minute internet connection issue for MFX, we made a quick substitution for Nemmeh to start in tonight's match. The final roster consisted of Phaze, Marian, BigEasy, Sammeh, and Nemmeh. Radium started out with a quick win of the knife round and choose Attack as the first side choice. The team got out to an early lead of 5-0 before dropping a few rounds due to player misque's which resulted in a few teamkills. Our lack of focus let Vo|tage grab 2 quick rounds. We regrouped and made the proper adjustments to finish the half 8-4.

Going into defense we played passively the first round and soon found that Vo|tage was playing even more passively. After some positioning we were able to get a few quick kills and secured a first round win. Radium did not let up and powered through to secure a final 2nd half score of 5-1 ending the match with a solid 13-5 win.

Professional Team
Radium's Professional team fell in a close 11-13 loss against Just 4 Fame tonight. Radium has been eager to play but unfortunately could not field it's starting 5 players. Cash substituted for StmpN for tonight's match, after some early rounds of back and forth J4F was able to secure their preseason match win.

The professional team will be competing against the top U.S. teams this season in both CEVO-Professional and CG-Invite and we expect them to do very well. I'm sure they'll have a great showing next week when the regular season starts with the first map being Crash.

Good luck to all teams this season, we hope everyone enjoys it.
